Our Team

A board-certified optometrist, Dr. Taylor Ficek has been a trusted eyecare provider in the Athens community since 2019.  Her expertise ranges from routine eye exams to diagnosing and managing various eye-related diseases such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, myopia, and others.  She combines her extensive training with a warm, friendly approach that puts patients at ease.

Dr. Ficek earned her Doctorate of Optometry with honors from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee, after receiving dual degrees in Nutrition Sciences and Psychology at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.  During her optometry school studies, Dr. Ficek completed a clinical training rotation in Atlanta where she gained hands-on experience in refractive surgery and ocular diseases.  Following graduation, she returned to Georgia and put down roots in Watkinsville, quickly falling in love with the Athens area and its charming community.
