Dr. Taylor Ficek

Optometrist

Dr. Taylor Ficek has been a trusted eyecare provider in the Athens community since 2019.  Her expertise ranges from routine eye exams to diagnosing and managing various eye-related diseases such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, myopia, and others.  She combines her extensive training with a warm, friendly approach that puts patients at ease.

Dr. Ficek earned her Doctorate of Optometry with honors from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee, after receiving dual degrees in Nutrition Sciences and Psychology at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.  During her optometry school studies, Dr. Ficek completed a clinical training rotation in Atlanta where she gained hands-on experience in refractive surgery and ocular diseases.  Following graduation, she returned to Georgia and put down roots in Watkinsville, quickly falling in love with the Athens area and its charming community.

Dedicated to providing comprehensive and personalized eyecare, Dr. Ficek serves patients of all ages–from infants experiencing their first eye exam to seniors managing complex eye health concerns.  Honored to be a trusted partner in her community’s eye health, Dr. Ficek looks forward to helping you and your family enjoy clear, healthy vision for years to come.

 

Holly Arrendale

Holly has 10 years of experience in the eye care field and is a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant.  She assists with patient testing, supports the doctors during exams, and can often be found helping patients in our optical department.  Holly takes pride in making each visit feel comfortable, informed, and stress-free.  Outside of the office, Holly is married and a busy mom of three.  In her free time, she enjoys going to the beach, shopping and relaxing with a good book whenever she gets the chance.
Allison Credille

Allison is an Athens, GA native with 17 years of experience in the eye care field, working as an ophthalmic technician.  She helps ensure a seamless flow from start to finish as she prepares our patients to see Dr. Ficek.  She also cuts some of our lenses here in the office to ensure precise, high quality lenses.  Allison enjoys building strom connections with patients and helping them feel comfortable and informed throughout their visit.  Outside of work, she stays busy with her three kids and three dogs.  In her free time she loves running and reading. 
Savanna Hill

Savanna has 7 years of experience in the optometry and ophthalmology field.  She has had the pleasure of working alongside Dr. Ficek for four of those.  She is most often found at the front desk, where she assists patients with scheduling and helps ensure each visit runs smoothly.  Savanna also handles all billing matters and works behind the scenes to make the administrative side of care as seamless as possible.  You may also find her giving her opinion on glasses in our optical department!  She takes pride in creating a welcoming, friendly experience for every patient who walks through the door.  Outside of the office, Savanna is happily engaged and enjoys spending time with her two Labrador retrievers.  She loves reading and is a big fan of all things reality television.
